Pambansang Ragbi Liga NG Pilipinas (PNRL) is the governing body of Rugby League Football in the Philippines and the home of the Men's and Women's Philippine National teams, the Tamaraws and the Sampaguitas. The PNRL is a member nation of the Asia-Pacific Rugby League Confederation (APRLC), and an observer member of the International Rugby League (IRL), the PNRL are also regular members of the Philippine Olympic Committee.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to enable all Filipinos to have a healthy lifestyle through their participation in Rugby League Football and to be competitive among the global Rugby League playing nations. Our focus is the promotion, development, and efficient administration of Rugby League in the Philippines.
The Philippines National Rugby League (PNRL) was established in 2011 registering the Philippines National Rugby League – Australia Inc in NSW as its governing body which was duly recognized at the time as the governing body for Rugby League in the Philippines, with a view of expanding rugby league further into Asia.
In 2011 it was announced that the Philippines would be playing their first game of rugby league at the 2012 Cabramatta International Nines, while also being involved in other organized international rugby league tournaments in the Asia-Pacific region.
In 2012 the Philippines won over Thailand at the 2012 Rugby League Asian Cup. History was again made, as the match was the first rugby league international played in Asia.
