The Tamaraws, Philippines National Rugby League senior men's team made their international rugby league debut in Bangkok on October 21, 2012 with a match against Thailand winning the game in the first Rugby League Asian Cup.
The Tamaraws are progressing as an emerging nation, and regularly participating in the Cabramatta International 9's (re-branded Sydney 9's) rugby league tournament. The Tamaraws have competed in many internationals against a number of rugby league nations from Asia, Europe and South America. The Tamaraws have been represented by IRL eligible Philippine heritage players and Philippine domestic rugby league players. They continue to rise in the rugby league international standings and were the best placed Philippine sporting team.
